It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Instrote: I have same problem on Windows 10 1803.

P.S. My problem solved by creating new user without cyrillic symbols.

atmime910: Did you go through gog.com to launch the game or did you go through the folder itself and launched the game? Now I'm only getting "Warning? Minimum requirements not met" on safe mode.
1. Try to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010.
2. In my case the game launched through desktop shortcut or by pressing button "play" in GOG Galaxy.
3. Try to execute command sfc /scannow in cmd (run as administrator, it checks consistenсy of your system files).

Did you try to launch the game in safe mode of Operation System? And the game didnt launch?

Yes, I tried launching the game in safe mode. The first time I received one of the above error messages, though now I'm receiving the 'minimum requirements not met'. The Internet explorer is completed screewwwwed on my computer. I even uninstalled explorer and reinstalled it. None of the updated versions work.

The sfc /scannow said everything is fine :)

I have MVC 2010 (x86) and (x64) on my computer. I'll do a search later for additional versions, and continue trying to get explorer running (~yuck, windows explorer~).

Try this:

1. Create shortcut to <witcher folder>/System/witcher.exe on desktop
2. Right-click and open the shortcut’s Properties. In the Target textbox next to the path type: -dontForceMinReqs

Make sure there is a space between the path and the -dontForceMinReqs parameter. Confirm with OK.

3. Now you should be able to run the game from this shortcut.

I've also tried doing the:

takeown /f MSVCR80.dll
regsvr32 MSVCR80.dll

in command prompt, but cmd prompt can't find the file.

No, it's an absolutely untrusted site. It's a "fix my PC" scam site, masquerading as a wiki. The ONLY trusted site to download Microsoft files is Microsoft itself.
