I've read the manual of the mod, and understand that the mod makes the game more difficult, but I'm having trouble in a lot of ways, and in other ways, It's really easy.

Against humans, I'm having absolutely no trouble, even when fighting more than 4 people. the group style was supposed to just put them in fear, but I'm killing them left and right

When I'm fighting against monsters, If there is more than one, I pratically can't kill them, even with a lot of potions.

In chapter 2, the quest for the wine, there are two graveirs, and I'm using necrophage oil on my silver sword, tanny owl with albedo effect, blizzard with nigredo effect, swallow and a food item. They kill me in about 10 seconds, even using aard to stun them. I've tried to dodge, but even with that, it seems like I'm always being hit.

My build is this:
Strength - lvl 2 with disarm
Dexterity - lvl 2 with deflect arrows
Stamina - lvl 1 with poison resistance
Intelligence - lvl 2 with herbalism, oil and bomb preparation
Aard - lvl 1 with stun
Igni - lvl 1 with harms way 1 (+10% damage)
Strong Steel - lvl 3 with "cut at the jugular" 1, 2 and 3; "Crushing Blow" 1, 2 and 3
Fast Steel - lvl 1
Group Steel - lvl 2 with "steel barrier" 1 and 2; "Precise Hit" 1 and 2; "Instill Doubt" 1 and 2
Strong Silver - lvl 1 with "Deep Cut" 1 and "Mortal Blow" 1
Fast Silver - lvl 1
Group Silver - lvl 1

Difficulty being played: Hard Package: Hardcore.

I know this is a really high difficulty, but I think the difficulty I'm having is quite strange (having it easy with a group, while 1 monster kills me)

Thanks for any help.

Weak humans are ... weak. So far they don't have much armour, nor are particularly strong.

Graviers are higher order Necrophages (though not as high as some later types). They are "Grendel" level bad-asses, and not to be taken lightly.

I'd say that you are tackling this tough fight a wee bit early... leave it till later when you have more stamina, better dodge and higher damage on your swords.

I'm looking at the build and will add some suggestions for possible tactics with this build, or recommendations for the minimum to return with... in the meanwhile there should be lots to do in the rest of this quarter and the swamp to keep you busy for a while so this isn't a *must do* task at this stage.
It's been a while but I'm pretty sure I saw a video of this exact fight made by the creator of the mod himself, to demonstrate the mod. He used a stun bomb (I think it's called Samum), and took the Graveirs out no trouble. I think the point was illustrate that tactics are more important against tough monsters than head-on sword fighting.

Currently your best option is Strong Silver, it should give only around 26 damage per complete "set" of 4 attacks (2 at lvl 1, 2 at lvl 1*). It can also cause bleeding, though I don't recall if Graviers are susceptible.

The Gravier recovers health, so wounds are useless unless sufficient to kill. The 26 health is recovered in less than 8 seconds. (and you need 8 successful complete combos to kill... without regen).

Your other options include using Fast Silver (less damage, but causes pain) which can slow down the attacks you receive. Group won't hit with your current build. You'd need 4 more damage (better weapon, higher strength, adrenaline, and 'Int: Living Anatomy" help with this...)

You can try updating Igni to Lvl 3 (fear) or Lvl 4 (incineration), and it might be worth a giggle to try a torch... though I doubt it would help enough... Kalkstein sells a potion that can change difficulty if it is "impossible" to procede (also Abigail in other chapters).

Group, followed by a flurry of Strong is perhaps your best bet... but for now you don't have the skillset to make that work. I'd go and pick on something weedier elsewhere first.

Thanks for the answers, but I still have one more. Do you think I call kill wraiths now too? I've tried two different places, one is a quest that has a house with two wraiths, and the other is a cave with wolves and a wraith inside.
When I'm attacking the two wraiths in the house, while I still get killed, they don't really cause too much damage each hit. The one in the cave, however, while alone, pratically rips through my health like it's nothing.
Are they two different types of wraiths, or I'm just unluky?

EDIT: Thanks, Lieste, for all the help. I'm still having difficulty with some parts, but after having completed some quests, and trying other sword styles (I don't know why I never used Fast against monsters), I'm having way more fun.

Really, your help was great!
