So, I wanted to download The Witcher using the backup installer from Gog site. As you may know this game requires 4 intallers: the first one went well, but the second, after the download, gave me one .BIN file and one .CRDOWNLOAD file. Is it how it's supposed to be? I fear I'll have to download it again (took me 15 hours).

I think the .CRDOWNLOAD file is a temporary file.

And the BIN file? Shouldn't it be an application like the first part of the setup?
When the installer is divided into multiple files, only the first one is an .exe. The rest are .bin. Just save them to the same folder and execute the .exe - it will work fine.
Fifteen hours for 3.9GB....and that is just ONE of the bin files. Your internet connection sure is unsuitable for downloading games :-( but the game is big enough that I also would need around 2½h for all of it (if I calculated correctly).

Sounds like you are using Chrome, which I do not so am making educated guesses here, and the file has not downloaded completly and correctly :-( Is there a setting in Chrome to resume or retry downloading a file? That way you might not have to download every single bit again.

That's why I still haven't played this game, because I couldn't psychologically bear the amount of time it took to download. If the file is damaged I'll have to download everything again, BUT if what says Caesar above here is true, I have no problem and I'm just being paranoid.

Qwertw:
You will need the exe file and all three bin files in the same folder to try; then you will find out if it works.
