Hi, I downloaded the Witcher a couple days ago off here due to the promo offer and I've really gotten into it after 7 hours or so of playtime. However I'm running it on my iMac's Windows 7 bootcamp partition which I made only 64GB in size. Obviously the game takes up a good amount of that space :P

If I bought the DVD copy and deleted all the gigabytes of space the downloaded version is taking up, is there an easy way to continue playing off my current save, or would I need to start the game all over again? Sorry if this is a really dumb question, I'm not too experienced with PC gaming or Windows...

Thanks for any help.

If both games would be fully-patched EE versions (1.5), the saves can be copied over.

However, you can 'slim' TW version a bit, reducing the amount of used space:
1) Delete any unnecessary saves.
-- Remember that this game does not overwrite the saves - each time you use autosave / quicksave, a new file is created and those take up a lot of space.

2) Delete unwanted language packs
-- GOG version installs all languages by default. Check this thread to see which files can be removed.
Thanks a lot Thiev, maybe I'll get the boxed copy off Amazon in that case. Would be nice to have those maps and manuals for real anyway.
Assuming that you downloaded the game into your bootcamp partition, you can also get a ton of space back by simply moving or deleting the downloaded files. Once the game is installed, they are no longer required to play the game.
Yeah I realized that eventually, was a bit shocked at first to loose over 20 gigs from a four year old game :P
You deleted much more than the just downloaded files then. The game download is only 8.4 GB.
