I have a mouse with 7 buttons, but the game won't let me set the extra buttons to anything. Before I resort to using a profiler, does anyone know if it's possible to edit the configuration files to make these buttons work?

Not as far as I know, easiest and fastest way is to use your mouse's profile software.

I used this proggy in the past to play FEAR after the controls went buggy.

XMouse worked brilliantly for me. All I wanted was to remap the middle mouse button scrolling command to one of my thumb buttons, and it did the job.
