I don't know what happened to the old forum so I'm asking here.

In preparation for TW2 I'm trying to retrieve my old save choices [using FCR mod] cause I forgot to save in the Epilogue; my last save is in the Ice Plains)and it's been so long I can't beat the Final Boss now.

Can anyone give me a strategy for this sucker or at least direct me to a link?? Thanks

On Hard, my Geralt usually gets juiced on Full Moon and Swallow before the showdown. (You can omit the Full Moon if you're not playing on Hard.) Don't do too many potions; you want to leave room to chug a White Raffard's if things go badly, without toxicating yourself.

Take out the mutants using Group Steel. When the GM appears, go Strong Steel and concentrate on him, ignoring the Ifrits. Then when the KotWH appears, switch to Strong Silver. Throw Igni or Aard when you need to regain the tempo.

Playing at too-high settings can be a problem. The battle with the GM is the most demanding scene in the game, and if your frame rate gets too slow, Geralt can't press the attack. Turning AF and AA all the way down can help a lot.

Thanks for the tips I turned down all the visuals and I'm getting 105-142 fps now..but the game engine is bugged I'm getting damage even before the animations begin.

After trying all sorts of potion combinations and oils, I shut off FCR cause the Wraiths were generating health faster than my combos could keep up...All the "guides" said to use strong silver but when using FCR that doesn't work. My best effort was banging on KotWH and not moving around so the minion wraiths wouldn't generate or only 1 at a time. (thing was he would hit me twice and I would die).

After I shut off FCR then it was a walk in the park..so at least I got my final save for TW2. Thanks again

ps. I'll still play around with final scene with FCR on again to see if I can re-crceate my first runthrough. Its a game of chance anyways.

Besides the tips by cjr, if your using pots and playing on hard, make sure all your pots have secondary properties. Albedo for lower toxicity, rubedo for faster health regen and nigredo for moar damage! Plus Argentia on the silver sword and Cinfrid oil on the steel one. (On spectres oil on the silver)

I really had no problem with fights in the game, on hard. But it wasn't my first playthrough and I'm a COD gamer and maniac to excel at combat in any game I play. At level 42, no mods, It was quite easy but then, the whole game was quite easy on hard with the pots and oils and a little magic.

I just SUPER_SUCK then cause I'm at lev 47!! I straffed, ...I parried, ...I gave em the finger and they still beat my a$$!! NOW your "easy on hard"" was using the FCRrev 1.3 mod?? Say no so I won't cry!!!

No, no mods for me. =} Does it help with the xp gain? I got so sick of farming xp and max level I got was 42!

So the XP factor makes the game more enjoyable?? IT'S AN RPG!!(psuedo)

Ever play Oblivion without OOO or MMM mods it sucks!! boring

If you want to really amplify the "FUN" factor of The Witcher then the only way to play it was with the FCR mod otherwise its a stroll in the park game thus the reason for my post. I needed the "farming" to get the ingedients for the pots to get thru it ...besides I'm a hoarder!!

Seriously, its the best mod you'll ever need for the game!! You should get the Stuff that makes Geralt life easier mod as the second option also.

Even better than Crinfrid Oil, Brown Oil. Some of the baddies you faced earlier are immune to pain, but not to bleeding, and the GM goes down fast if you get him to bleed. Also, the Mahakaman Rune Sihill (there are a few ways to get one in Act V) is the best sword for this campaign.
