deonast: I'm going to try a VPN and see if I can buy the witcher 2 again on gog now that it is on special and see if I can get the international version. I hear steam also censors for Australian buyers and includes credit card location details as part of the process so I don't think I'll be buying it there.
olnorton: If you have the Australian version, you just need to add 2 files to cookedpc
succubuss.dzip & elf_flotsam.dzip
You can get them here.
http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_2/australian_users_click_here_un_edit_patch Good to know, I think I had a copy of the patch but wasn't sure if it was still valid considering the latest GOG downloads had been updated a much higher version number thought might be unlucky and the patch might break something now.
I had previously before more recent updates, otherwise obtained the international version of the game and noted that from the installer files the only difference between the AU version and the International version was the international one had an extra pack "setup_the_witcher_2_ee_3.0.1.17.bin" all other installer files were identical.
Anyway just in case things change and so I'm not reliant on a third party patch I've gone and created a US account on GOG and used a VPN and grabbed a international copy that way which I can always go back to for any game updates. Figured I might as well since since specials are on.
Note I checked on steam, you can't get away with just a VPN as they still check your payment source location, eg change your address with them they compare the address set in paypal or on your credit card.
I'll just be very cautious that I know the go before clicking buy on witcher 3.
