OK I did some searches and didn't fins anyone have QUITE the same issue as me:
When I'm in the inventory screen, as I moved the mouse around, the cursor keeps changing from the gauntlet hand to my regular system arrow cursor and when it's the system cursor it doesn't interact with the game!
Does that make sense?
I've also had the cursor be invisible on the main start-up menu screen but I think that was alt-tabbing related
Anyone seen anything like this?
Cheers!

This is not the game. Something on your system is interfering with your cursor software. Find out what it is and either disable it or remove it.
Hmm maybe but it doesn't happen in any other games and specifically on the inventory screen in this one - not the journal screen, or the alchemy one or anywhere else!

That doesn't matter; it's irrelevant. The game does not change your cursor from game cursor to system cursor. This is your mouse software.
OK turns out an effective work-around is to change game resolution (and, optionally, back again) once per session - it's fine then! Odd!
