I got the witcher last week, downloaded it TWICE using gog downloader. The file integrity check always freezes or makes my whole pc nearly unusable unless I skip it. Then comes the installation part where it always fails at the same point, detailing a certain file called textures00.bif
Help is greatly appreciated as I don't expect to dl the whole 8gb for the 3rd time and not working again.

Are you running the installer as administrator? That might help. Also try installing the game to a location other than Program Files (like C:\Games).

Tried installing as admin on both files i downloaded, din work. Tried installing into different locations, that din work out as well. Yep, i did delete the 1st files before doing the 2nd download. It always results in the same error. Using windows 7.

Using the gog downloader only. Right now im trying to dl using the browser through a download manager. My connection is not the best so i gotta rely on resumable downloads.

Does integrity checking bring your PC to a crawl any time it is used, or just this one for The Witcher? If it happens with most GOG games, consider disabling antivirus software for the duration of the install.

The witcher's the only game I've got since i just joined gog last week. My first purchase is now turning into a first bad experience for me.

Thanks for the helpful advice. Downloaded the 1st part through gog downloader again after suspecting to be corrupted, disabled my AV, file integrity check went smoothly without my pc freezing, game installed fine. Got it all sorted out, problem solved.
