I've been watching reviews since finishing this game, not a single person even mentions isometric view and a big part of the clunk that they all critisize this game for stems from the OTS camera.

Now I'm rather new to PC exclusive RPGs and a lot of the jank that comes with them, but even I noticed upon the first moment of gaining control that the movement mechanics and control design clashed against each other hard, something is wrong here.

Switched to Isometric camera and everything about the game suddenly meshed well together and made sense.

Click to initiate auto attack? The way Geralt turns? Press movement key x2 to initiate a manuever? Absolutely bizzare design choices for a third person camera.
But switch to a high camera angle and allow everything to be initiated via contextual clicks? It works incredibly well.

So why bother with OTS when you sacrifice situational awareness and superior controls for depth perception which is useful...never in this game since everything you can interact with at one time is within 20 yards of you.

Also, the game looks 10x better with Isometric.
What this guy said!
In my humble opinion:

1. It feels more immersive.
2. I think it does lool better than isometric.
3. I like the particular mouse + keyboard controls in OST mode.

My reasons are 100% subjective, which is why it's great the game offers the option to choose camera mode.

I really have to disagree with your 2nd point since the game truly does look better with the Iso camera, textures in particular. That's a bit cheap seeing as how all textures look better with distance so I'll add onto that by suggesting that the OTS cam also handles in a very ugly way. The way it swings around Geralt all loosely just looks and feels bad.

I agree that in a combat aspect, the OTS aspect in the original feels loose and "sloppy". Immersion-wise, OTS gives a better atmosphere especially in areas like the towns etc, but in a combat situation, the fluid movement of Geralt looks far more impressive in isometric. Though isometric does let you cheat a little in combat by alerting you of enemies that Geralt couldn't possibly see though...
But it will always be a subjective thing among gamers, because some people simply don't like the obstructiveness of OTS. Although this was a design decision in games like Dead Space, it definitely feels crowded. I'd rather a tighter isometric over an OTS any day.
