So... I wanted to play The Witcher as I managed to get a free copy from a GOG giveaway a while back but I'm VERY aware that the game has tons of nudity and other objectionable content in the Directors cut. (which I have) Is there a way to re-censor the game. I see there is a "Safe Mode" executable but I don't know whether or not it's referring to the content of the game or the game engine running in compatibility mode. Perhaps there is a patch or mod that undoes the uncensoring of the Directors cut. If anyone can send me in the right direction that would be a great help.

It's been a while since I played this but it would be easier to turn away from the very few "objectionable content".

I just don't remember " ... tons of nudity and other objectionable content ... ".

I don't think this game is for you.

As xtharpe said, it's probably easier for you to just avoid the more explicit parts (which is mostly feasible, iirc there is just one mandatory 'sexual' part). Note however that there is quite a bit of unavoidable nudity - namely the dryads and a few enemies.

Also note that the censorship is very minor, and is limited to a few altered artworks (and a couple models). The censorship does not remove scenes or missions.

I'm aware the censored version just uses different models that don't have detailed nudity on them and that the game is otherwise intact. Shouldn't that make it easier to make the game censored if all you need to do is swap a few character textures? I suppose I could edit the textures myself so I only see them for a brief period versus the entire game but at that point I may as well just play the game normally. I understand that many people would rather just play the game "as is" but I'd honestly prefer a no nudity patch if possible.

I haven't installed it myself so I can't tell you if it works, but it could be worth a try.

I wan't a "no-violence" patch for my checker board game. I said it before and I'll say it again: Humanity it DOOMED.
