I played and finished the first game about a month ago. But I'm the sort that really tries to finish games i start...i actually played "Pools of Radiance- Ruins of Myth Drannor" all the way through when it came out- that just shows how persistent i am.
But the Witcher i only finished under duress- i almost stopped even during the end game sequence, i just became so fed up with being interrupted and dragged around by cutscenes all game long. I found it long, linear, easy and i haven't been so bored since i tried to play Diablo once. The choices in the game are really only an illusion of choice, the RPG character development seems to make no noticeable difference either. It's like the developers wanted to make a game like Soul Reaver but some marketing clowns told them "no RPG's are all the rage, you have to tack on character development." I think most people are playing for the "tittie cards" really. I have nothing against adult content, far from it, there are many solid NWN modules that do adult subject matter either tastfully or tongue in cheek as you prefer. The Witcher adult stuff is just 15 year old wet dream material.
I guess i am so dissapointed really because the reviews make it sound like the game solves world poverty and makes a great cup of coffee at the same time etc etc. I had my hopes built up too much. I did purchase the second game as well, but now i'm not sure if i'll even give it a try.
