So I bought the original Witcher and every time I try to download the first file it says "setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer." Does anyone know what that means and why I'm recieving this message? This is my first time downloading from GOG but I've dowloaded tons of games from Steam and never had this problem. Also there are 6 different files to download. Do I need to download all 6 things? Any help would be great.

Yes, you need to download all 6 files. When you click on a file choose the option 'save' and save that file to your computer, it sounds like you're choosing the option 'run'. When you have all 6 files in the same folder on your PC double click the .exe to install the game

Or you can use the downloader to download all the files through it.

I DLed all 6 files and had no trouble. But yes, as Namur stated. You need all 6 files or use the GoG downloader.

Yea, I clicked 'run'. When I click on the downloader, the tab says ieframe.dll and it takes forever to load. Hell, it's still loading now.

You have two ways of downloading your files

One is through your browser. You have to download all 6 files to your pc by clicking on the links and then choosing the option 'Save'. You need to do this for each of the 6 files.

or

The other is using the downloader. You can get it here

Unzip the contents to a folder and run the gogdownloader.exe. Then click on the 'add to gogdownloader" link on your shelf, this way the downloader will download all 6 files on its own.
For some reason it takes me to my SC II game.

Internet Explorer

SolidLatino: Internet Explorer
Ok.

Go to the cover and click on the link that says "download using browser (1 of 6)".

A window or a bar should pop up on your browser with the options "Run" "Save" and "Cancel". Click on "Save". A window should pop up showing you the folders and stuff you have on your PC. Pick a folder to save the file to and hit "Save".

You have to do this for all 6 files before you can install the game.

Yep. Same thing. Is there any way I can get my money back?
have you tried the downloader?
http://files.gog.com/downloader/GOGdownloader_0_9_0_1372.zip

once you have all the files in one folder
try running the setup application run as an administrator..

it should check file integrity than the install wizard comes up.
That message sounds like some strict IE security settings or AV software interfering.

Indeed. If the OP doesn't want to get another browser I'd suggest at least upgrading MSIE to some more recent version, which will probably cause less trouble.

Plus actually, does that "setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer" message really prevent you from downloading or does it just scare you off? It's safe to download even if Internet Explorer or your antivirus is being paranoid.

About a refund, you'd have to contact support and ask.

Reegarding the downloads, check out the attached pic.

If the message you're getting is like that one it comes from Internet Explorer 9 Smart Screen Filter which apparently is a bit overzealous.

You can either temporarily disable it to download your files - Press the ALT key to bring up the menu bar > Click on tools > Smart Screen Filter > Disable Smart Screen Filter

or

You could just install Google Chrome and use it to download your files.

The message didn't scare me off. When I choose run anyway another message pops up saying "The setup file is corrupted. Please download a new copy of the program." What does that mean? Do I have to re-buy the game?
