I downloaded and installed the GOG version of the witcher, and yesterday while playing, i alt-tabbed out of game, and saw that the game window was titled "the witcher - 1.4.xxx" (can't remember the xxx). Then I got on the witcher site and I saw that there is a 1.5 patch. I'm running the last version or should I download and install the 1.5 patch? And if i have to install it, will my saves keep working?

Excerpt from the "Fixes to Common Problems" topic :

Version Number Weirdness: If you alt-tab out of the game, on the taskbar is says v1.4.5, even though it should be v1.5

1) This is normal! The version number on the taskbar after alt-tabbing out of the game is wrong. Get the real version number by finding the witcher.exe file in your game folder, right-clicking it and looking under properties. It should be v1.5. You can also check the version using Game Explorer in Vista/Windows 7.

I don't have the GOG version, but from what I know 1.5 patch's main reason was to remove DRM, which obviously is not a problem with GOG version.

Edit:
Few more things - from the patch info:
"5 additional adventures made by the Witcher community: 'Deceits', 'Blight of the Bogs', 'Wraiths of Quiet Hamlet', 'Wedding', 'Merry Witchmas'."
If these are available then you are up to date.

For the record - my Polish retail copy of W:EE from Platinum Collection (fully patched at the time of release) describes the version on a taskbar as 1.4.5.1304.
