The title really says it all: When I try and load a save game, the game crashes, and I have no idea why. I've deleted a few of the older saves and disabled the cloud, but that doesn't seem to help.

About a month ago, I had to reinstall Windows 10 after a system failure; all the saves were still there, thanks to the cloud, and in the same folder they were in before (documents/The Witcher/saves) so that shouldn't be an issue - besides, they are showing up on the load screen. Well, at least the names are; there are no thumbnails, though I can't remember if there ever were any - it's been months since I played.

Does anybody have any idea what might cause the crash? I don't wanna start over because last time I played, I was about to fight the Striga, hence almost done with the game, and as much as I like it, I don't wanna start from scratch just because it keeps crashing.

Hi jehane after installing the game I started having those problems, I was finding out on my own until I disabled the windows antivirus and the problem was solved.
I recommend that you completely disable your installed antivirus before starting the game.
