so i just found out that my steam copies of the Witcher games come with GOG copies too, so i decided to try out GOG Galaxy, and not only the downloads are so slow in comparison to Steam, but one of the needed files is missing

so far, not happy guys

Galaxy is still pretty early into its beta test phase, so there are still a good number of kinks to work out, and features which haven't yet been implemented. Download speeds seem to vary quite a bit from user to user, and sometimes even one user's experiences with download speeds can have quite a bit of variation. Just be aware you can always download the standalone installers (and bonus goodies!) from your library, either in Galaxy (I think they're under 'More' -> 'Extras' or something -- a bit hidden, from what I've heard) or via your browser (see the first attachment below); for some people, it's currently faster. The old GOG Dowloader is also still available, and it's probably more likely to DL the files quickly than Galaxy right now (second attached pic). I've never used either Galaxy or the GOG Downloader, though, so I can really only repeat what I've read of others' experiences. Galaxy may not be that great right now, but check back in on it as the months roll on and see if it improves any -- and check out the beta tester thread for various info as it progresses. :)

Hello, I have a similar problem.
I have tried to download and install the german version of 'The Witcher', but it says that part 6 is missing... Yes I have double checked if the file is there and I have downloaded it several times. It still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Make sure the file hasn't been renamed. A screenshot or directory listing of the folder may also help.
