Hello,

I'm having real trouble with this game, first I had to download this 4 times because it wouldn't rebuild properly, in the end I just installed and amazingly it worked.

But now I'm having trouble with the cutscenes, the intro is really terrible to watch, it's like there is a wave going down every second. The in-game cutscenes have it too but a little less. I tried turning on and off the Depth of Field setting but it didn't do anything.
The gameplay itself is smooth though, I run it on highest settings with 1980x1080 resolution.
I also turned on and off the v-sync in my driver panel, also without improvement.

Is there anyway to fix this?

My system:

Windows Vista 64
AMD Phenom 9550 2.2GHz
4GB RAM DDR2
AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB DDR5
MSI K9A2 CF motherboard
1TB Western Digital hadrdrive

It's probably the known issue the game has with running at really high resolutions. Try turning the resolution down to confirm it.

Yes, when I run it in 1400x1050 it's gone.
Known issue you say, are they working on a fix for it you think?

Doubt it. They've already moved on to other things and haven't released a new bugfix patch for the game in a couple years.
If you still want to get the game running at 1920x1080, you might try using D3DOverrider to force Vsync. Sometimes forcing it in the driver panel doesn't work. Check the sticky thread for details.

I was able to run the game without problems at 1920x1080 resolution but I had to use D3DOverrider to fix some pretty bad tearing problems.

Also, for the intro cinematic, take a look at the bink32.dll fix, it helped me with some skipping in the intro. Info in the sticky thread.

That's too bad. :(
Thank you anyway. ^^

Okay, thanks I will try that.

Running D3DOverrider solved the tearingproblems in the cutscenes, first I thought it didn't work but I had to make a profile to bind it to witcher.exe and then it worked.

As for the Bink32.dll, the link in the sticky to Filefront is dead so I downloaded one from a dll site but with that one the game started with a crash lol.
Anywhere else I can download it?

Thanks.

That's annoying... I don't know about any other places to download it but I just asked in the sticky thread to see if someone else knows where to get it.

I probably still have a copy on my other machine, too, if you want me to send it to you later. You can just PM me your email address.

Anyway, I'm glad that D3DOverrider worked!

Just wanted to post here to let everyone know that I updated the download link for the binkw32.dll fix in the sticky thread. So if you're looking for the fix, you can find a working download link there. Thanks to iuliand for the link!
