It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Greetings all!

Is anyone else having trouble with the wallpaper download? Half of the files in the 1920x1200 folder keep coming out as corrupt or otherwise unopenable... I've tried three different browsers so far with the same results...

Thanks!

EDIT: Just discovered that all the different sizes have corrupt files in them, as well as the calenders...

If these "corrupt" files begin with a period "." (probably followed by an underscore as well) then you're just seeing what I presume is the (Mac) OS X resource fork file corresponding to the same image file without the leading "._". You may ignore (and delete) those on Windows, especially since otherwise the still extant ".jpg" extension leads Windows into presuming they are image files.

You may also ignore (and delete) the ".DS_Store" file (and its corresponding "._.DS_Store" resource fork file) if you find them in any of the wallpaper/calendar folders. This stores (Mac) OS X desktop services info (like icon placement in the folder) and is unnecessary (the Windows analogue would be "desktop.ini").

I suspect these zip archives were created on a Mac, hence the extra (and unnecessary) files. Perhaps GOG may wish to recreate those archives without the superfluous Mac files.

Hopefully that's what you were seeing; in my quick rummage through both the wallpapers and calendar zip archives those are the only "corrupt" images I've seen (since they're not actually images!).

D'oh! That's exactly what it is! Thanks!

Sticking a text file with an explanation inside the zip file might be a good idea...

JohnDempsey: zip repairing archives crashed by system errors, power failures, malware, etc. Tool extracts, analyzes and repairs corrupted .zip files, it repairs encrypted data from ZIP archives. Software recovers self-extracting (SFX) archives. If you want test tool facilities download demo.

Commercial spam is not welcome here. I don't care whether it's for a product that works, which this doesn't, unless you fork over money to find out that you should have just downloaded the file again.

The fact that you posted this almost a year after the problem was solved indicates that your sole purpose was to abuse these forums in order to promote a commercial product.
