Another thing you may want to try is take the disk to a video store/gaming store and see if they can remove the scratches for you. You can buy a scratch remover yourself but generally the store ones are much superior to the retail machines.
Another option that MAY work (has for me with my rise of legends disk) Is to copy the files from the disk onto your hard drive, then from the hard drive, copy them to a new disk. Not the most likely way to get the game to run but it is worth a shot. And as I've said has worked for me.
