The intro movie is not playing. Any suggestions on things to try to get this to work?
Try QuickTime Lite. It works on Linux and Win 7 to 10. Don't know about win 11.

My intro movie didn't automatically play, but in the main menu I was able to select "replay intro" without a problem.

Thanks. I am running Win 10. This sorted me out.
Unfortunately I tried this and it did not work for me, I actually get into the game but as soon as I choose new game, Not Responding, :( I do not know what else to do.
This is also not playing for me as well. I have Quicktime installed, and it is set as the default media player for mov (so I cannot install QTLite with Quicktime installed). I can go into the movies directory and play them with quicktime, but the game cannot replay the intro video for me, either. This is definitely a bug.
Here the same. If have quicktime lite already installed but no videos ingame.
I got the movies playing by running the game in 3dfx mode and using the nglide setup. I changed the video backend to 'vulkan' and screen resolution to 'by desktop'.

Then the game ran fine.
Installing quicktime lite fixed it for me thank you!

Hi there, how did you adjust all these settings? I've looked through the "advanced settings" menus and cannot find Vulkan as an option.
Both nglide and the direct x have a separate config exe you can launch through the gog galaxy launcher or manually in the game install location.
I found a solution that works for me!
1. Install the game from GOG.
2. Install DirectX 11 renderer: moddb.com/mods/unreal-directx11-renderer-for-ut-ug-rune-and-dx/downloads/directx11-renderer-for-wotrune-hp12-c bu-and-ds9tf-version-162
3. Install Quicktime Fix. Simply copy the files to the "System" folder: community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/655-directdraw-patched-quicktime-4/
4. I still have the high-resolution textures installed. But this is not necessary to play. moddb.com/mods/the-wheel-of-time-esrgan-pack
5. The videos will be played in a smaller window at the top left and can be skipped with ESC.
I'm totally happy! :-)
I have 4k resolution and perfect brightness.

Since posting the links doesn't work, I had to remove http and www in the links.

Can you please fix the broken videos issue?
Game version 300.250 working fine. Small window in the left and up corner expands and videos are played at full resolution. But version 333.310 it is unable to expand and remains in the tiny window covered by a black curtain. Is it possible to find out what is the difference between the settings of these versions and fix it? Excuse my bad english.

Thanks for that! This actually worked for me. For anyone wondering, you can click "Settings" next to the Play button in the launcher, then pick "Additional Executables" to get to the additional setting options.

**UPDATE**
While the game runs for me now, I've noticed that I can only play one cinematic before I have to quit out of the game and re-open it to play another. For instance, I can play the intro cinematic, but if I attempt to start a new game where the opening cinematic plays first, the game stalls on a black screen and won't continue. However, if I force-close the application, restart it and play a new game, the new game cinematic will play fine and I can enter the game. Keep in mind that at the end of the first level, there's another cinematic and the game crashes again, forcing me to save just before ending the level, restart the game, and load up my save before I can continue.

Hai, excuse my bad english. I started the game using 3dfx, I set C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Wheel of Time\System\nglide_config.exe to Vulkan. In the "advanced settings, Display, Startup Fullscreen, " I set this to false. I tried changing the resolution, no effect. Videos are still unable to expand. Game version 300.250 working fine. I have quicktime fix, i tried directx11 renderer too. According to me, it's an internal problem in the game settings, which is related to changing the version from 300 to 333.
