Edit: miss spelled launcher in the title sorry for that.

For the Fix: Inside the main folder is the Unity launcher, you can manually set which screen to use there. Hold the SHIFT key and double click TheUncertain.exe to activate the Unity launcher..... this is true for 90% of all Unity games.

For the Review: Its very short, about 4-5 hours if you go slow and run around and explore everything.... maybe shorter or longer if you get tripped up on puzzles which only one was a little more difficult.

There seems to be branching stories but the game is very unclear on when those choices come up, sometimes you pick a single dialogue response and move on.... other times you can pick them all.

The Voice acting was strange but being robots it made sense. Story is pretty good, I'm invested enough i will happily play the next game in the series. And yes there is a cliffhanger ending. You can infer what happened to the humans somewhat and get a few questions answered but there seems to be a good amount of story left untold.

Logically moving from quest to quest makes no sense at times depending on how you choose responses. It can be quite jarring when you leave the "cannon" choices and then game puts you right back where you should be.

Should you buy it? Its completely worth the price right now, its only $1.49 at the moment.... is it worth $15? the content inside the game fits inside that price range, but the inconsistency and dialog issues make it feel like it was rushed out of the gate. Artistically its really nice for a Unity title, music is looping in parts and does get annoying if you stay to long in some areas. sound design feels good over all, the effects feel good. Movement and world traversal, KB&M is difficult to control but interaction is better with the mouse... movement in the game world is better on controller but selection and interaction suffers. So you have to pick, interaction or locomotion. Camera switches position and can get you stuck in a movement pattern.

Go for it now, can't go wrong, you can get though it in an afternoon... fun story, gets you hooked for more. Hopefully we get the second part sooner rather then later.

Other 2020 games sitting at $15: Journey, Besiege
