Trying to enjoy immersion in the game & stuff like this....bleurgh!

Tried looking through the .Ini files to no avail, is there a way to get rid of these?

Egh, I don't have the game (I sooo want it though!), but that would really bother me too, I hope there is a way to turn that crap off. I hate achievements, and in-game notifications of them are HORRIBLE.

I'm curious if you're running through galaxy or if those are bound to the game?

I was running it stand alone, so the achievement junk was directly in game, not because of galaxy.

I was beginning to think I was the only one that hated achievements ;)

Alas, still not found a way to remove them, so don't think it is possible.

Ooof, that's really upsetting, and drops it down on my interest by quite a bit. Perhaps contact the developer to request a way to do it telling them your issues with it in a calm and well-articulated manner?

I was routing through the games folder, hunting down any .Ini files, to nosey through whilst awaiting any possible answers from Reddit, when I struck nose gold...I mean the jackpot.


If you search the folder for: BaseEngine.ini, open it in Notepad (or whatever you prefer).

Search for "Achievement" & you'll find a few like the following:

Achievement_1_Id=null-ach-1
Achievement_1_bIsHidden=false
Achievement_1_Title="Achievement 1"
Achievement_1_LockedDesc="Achieve achievement 1"
Achievement_1_UnlockedDesc="Achievement 1 achieved"

Change the following:

Achievement_1_bIsHidden=false to Achievement_1_bIsHidden=true.

Do the same for the others below, for Achievement-0 to Achievement-9.

I've only done a quick test, got to first "achievement" I posted at start of the thread & nothing popped up \o/

That is excellent! They really should just make it an option "turn off in-game achievement notifications" or whatever. EASY.

Would make more sense, but such is a devs life... ;)

Similar in Dishonoured that it had mature language, but only if you looked at the .Ini's.

ohya? how do you enable that?

Head to where the .Ini files are placed.

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\

or similar.

Then open the files & search for "mature".

That should be the setting to change.

Not got it installed, but that should be right.

Or, once in the Bioshock folder, use search folder for "mature" & open the .Ini files it comes up with to search/change it.

errrm is this for Bioshock or Dishonored?

Search for: bAllowMatureLanguage=FALSE

Just change FALSE to TRUE.
