I had some trouble getting The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf installed on my Stem Deck. Ordinarily, in game-mode, I'd launch GOG Galaxy, install my game, then play.

1st Problem: The install would fail at "executing setup". All the files would be there and appear intact but the game wouldn't run. In desktop-mode I opened bottles (a WINE management tool), created a bottle, download the offline installer, installed the game in my new bottle. It installed successfully! Yay!

2nd Problem: Now that I know I have a good installation I returned to game-mode and ran GOG Galaxy. I tried to run the game aaaaaaaaand crash.

3rd Problem: Back in GOG Galaxy on the Smurfs - Mission Vileaf page under setting > Manage Installation I clicked verify / repair. This time it updated cleanly without failing during "executing setup". I run the game aaaaaaaaand crash.

4th Problem: The GOG overlay interferes with certain games. Usually just control issues but disabling the overlay is free so it's worth a shot. Go here:

GOG Galaxy > The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf > Settings > Manage Installation > Configure.. > FEATURES
uncheck the box "Access GOG Galaxy features in-game"

After that I tried running the game again aaaaaaaaand crash.

Not a Problem?: I returned to desktop-mode and opened the bottle I installed the game into and ran "TheSmurfsMissionVileaf.exe" aaaaaaaaand ... Title screen. Blink Blink (stunned silence)

So I can run the game but not through GOG Galaxy. I could put in a little more time and figure out how to run my bottled installation in game mode but I don't want to. I just bought the Steam version to make it easy. Both the GOG and Steam versions were on sale for $1.99 each so no big loss.
