The tutorials seem to be bugged, the settlers don`t build buildings. I place the buildings exactly where the red arrow points to, but the settlers don`t start building, so the tutorials are useless! In the game itself they build. Sadly this game is very different to Settlers 2, so I don`t know how to even find metals and coal, because ther are no flags from which I can send someone to look for metals, coal and water.
Does somebody know how I can fix the problem with the tutorials??

Edit: I forgot to mention that I`m talking bout Settlers 4.

I haven't played 4 yet, but I played 3 which uses the same engine, so at least I can answer the second question: to find resources etc, you have to convert a carrier to a Geologist (which you can do on the Population tab), which you can then control directly, just like military units, so you move him to a mountain and look for resources. Water is obtained from rivers, so you don't have to search for it.

As for why buildings aren't built in tutorial, did you by any chance accidentally reduce the builders %?

There are some tutorial youtube videos, the buildings appear to be built properly there. Did you see them, in case it gives you an idea on what's wrong in yours?
