I've searched high and low but I can't find a patch to run S3 on higher / custom resolutions.

Does such a thing exist? A lot of these old games seem to have patches or work arounds for resolution.

Any help on forcing a resolution greatly appreciated, I managed to get S2 working on my widescreen with no problems so would be super surprised if S3 didn't have something similar.

Afaik (and I tried a lot of things!), this is not possible with Settlers 3 at all :(
