Hi,

I bought settlers 3 yesterday. I have some problems with the game. if i enter the game it gives me a message that says "Please insert CD1 in your CR-ROM drive". I can not click on anything except for ok or cancel. Can someone please help me.

My pc is running windows 10 but im running settler 3 on windows 95.

Install and run the game as administrator.

This did not work, Settler 3 is still asking for the CD

It is asking you for the CD because you set the compatibility settings to Windows 95. Just remove this compatibility setting - it is not needed and breaks stuff.

if i turn of the compatibility off, I get a Mircosoft Visual C++ runtime error. And i have the following runtimes installed on my windows 10 computer.

Hmm...

Have you tried to repair the game with Gog Galaxy? Otherwise I don't know what to say. It is working for me on Win 10.

No when i use Gog Galaxy i still get the same error.

Looks like something on your system is seriously broken. Maybe the graphics drivers. Or maybe a kind of anti virus lets the system break.

Did you try enabling DirectPlay?

In the Control Panel (not Settings), go to Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features On and Off. Open the Legacy Components section and tick DirectPlay.
