Hello,

Installed this gem of a game today, but I have two issues.

One: the serial key is required every time I turn on the game. I tried the regs file. I tried verifying files. I tried restarting PC. I tried restarting game. I tried running S3.exe for both single player and multiplayer. Nothing works.

Two: when I start the game, the main menu is in orange. I owned all Settlers 3 expansions back in the day and I remember: Blue menu is when you have only the base game. Orange, if you have the Mission Pack expansion. Green if you have the Amazon expansion (overrides the orange if you have the mission pack expansion installed too). Gold if you have the ultimate edition, which is avaialble to be bought here on GOG, the one that I bought today. Thing is, the game doesn't see that I have either the amazon expansion in here not the fact that this is the ultimate edition. I can't play Amazons.

Need advice big time.

You'll have to run the regs file as administrator if possible. Otherwise, contact GOG Support, this sounds like a very strange issue with failing to write the proper registry values (which handle the expansion content, serial key etc.).

Did that too. No effect.

Then it's up to GOG Support. They'll try to work it out with you, and in the worst case scenario that all options are exhausted and you can't run it still, they'll most likely refund you since you bought it recently.
any news on that? I have the same issue...

Hey

i found a way it works minutes ago :D
the GOG installer tries to run a cmd file.
it looks like wine don't have the needed "reg" command to modify the registry.
so i converted the cmd file to a regedit file with the needed values for a wine 32bit and 64bit environment (i didn't test the 32bit).
it works for me, i hope for you too :)

Okay, stupid questions, but:
What do I do with the file? Where do I put it?

edit: never mind, I found the solution:
