The file you need to rename should be located in the Settlers 3 folder.

Hi,
cant find that file in settlers directory.
Only file in an errorlog, and in windows sys.
Have any ideas? Maybe copy/paste it from somewhere?
I try to make the work on gameranger.

Yes, tryed that.
Just want my game to work on gameranger.
Works fine in win10. No problem.
But when i want to play on gameranger it says not same edition, cant play...

This fix is only for Windows 10. I don't know what gameranger is. Perhaps you should open a new thread for this and make it more clear that Windows 10 isn't the poblem.

Or just use the aLobby instead of GameRanger: there are like 20 times more S3 players on the aLobby than GameRanger :)

For Windows 8+, you must rename or remove the winmm.dll and it works. This will be added to my OP.
