Thought I'd share this with you, since I couldn't find it on these forums yet:

It's possible to change the options that the Basic Setup tool won't save, e.g. CD Audio -> Only matching nations, or the Color Mousepointer.

You can do this by manually editing the Windows Registry. Run regedit.exe and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bluebyte\Siedler3\1.0\General

Here you'll find e.g.
GDIMouse - set it to 0 for color mouse pointer
CDAudio - set it to 0 for Off, 1 for On (only matching nation), 2 for On (all nations)

Be advised: changing the registry in other places can mess up your system, so only change things you know are safe to change. The Settlers 3 settings can always be reset to default using the Basic SETUPS3 tool.

If the color Mousepointer don't show the colored one, what can solve this?
I only see the b/w one.

I couldn't get the colored mouse pointer to work either on Windows 7 nor 10, even though the setup tool shows it as enabled. I guess that's simply no longer supported by Windows 7+.
Thanks for the hint, I prefer to have the matching nation music.

About the colour mouse pointer - I remember from the time when I played off the CD version - it's not worth it. It has a noticable response lag and doesn't work as fast. The BW pointer is much more useful.
