I'm on mission 2 Rome and I'm curious about something and too lazy to try it myself. If I have a farm on one island will that supply food to everyone on all islands? Does the same go for ore? weapons? tools? If I have a weapons maker on one island can I produce troops with a barracks on another island? Does that make sense?
BUMP
your islands work independently from one another. if you wish to transport wares between two islands you must do so manually by building a landing stage on both sides iirc and use extra ships to transport the goods.

Thank you for answering! +1 but I forgot to make this a question so unfortunately I can't really express how grateful I am. Hey, make fun of me if you wish, I'm addicted to this stupid game. :P

I managed to win the 2nd scenario using my islands totally independantly. On to #3 with even more but I guess I'll go indy on those too. trying to use ships just seems like a big pain.

Again
Thank you so much.
i think in a later mission you will need the water transportation, but i might be confusing that with the settlers 4 roman campaign.
