I am referring to the known 4-core issue, that makes the game unplayable on newer PCs.

Not officially, but someone of the forums a while back posted a fix, it's now on PCgamingwiki

Thanks. Knowing this, I may try it.

Bought the game and tried all three tricks, no dice, still not working.

Even with the hex editor, I could not find that specific offset, they were only numbers, not any letters. I can only guess the .exe has been updated in the meantime.

Guess I need to accept that I will never be able to play this game.

The offset given is in hex, if your hex editor lists offsets in decimal (possible), you'll need to convert it. Hex 9f56d0 is equal to 10442448 in decimal, so it should be near the end of the file (I guess).

Guess I will try again later.

No offset with those numbers either.

Oh well.
