This game The Quest looks interesting to me as I grew up on old school turn based crpg games like Bard's Tale and Might and Magic, and I see it's currently on sale along with it's DLC. That part is straightforward to me. What I'm having a little trouble with are all of the expansions that are available on Steam but not here. Looking there and on other websites, I think I've pieced together the following, but I'm not certain and would love for someone to explain it to me if possible. This game was originally designed and implemented on hand held devices. Eventually the developer created a port to PC. A different developer created expansions for the game, apparently a whole bunch of them that fans have enjoyed. The expansions developer eventually put their expansions for sale on Steam, but has stated they cannot do the same on GOG due to GOG not having something akin to the Steam Workshop. However, I saw where it has been stated that if you buy the expansions on Steam and place them in the correct folders of your installed GOG version of the game, they will still work.
Phew, I know that's a lot, but I am curious and wasn't quite sure I was following the "history" of the game correctly. Any assistance from the community in explaining all this to me is appreciated, thanks!
