After contacting S.A. Forever Entertainment THREE times on facebook I finally received at least kind of a reply.

"In the nearest future the game won't receive further updates. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to stay up to date."

A reply which imo is not really useful and also does not give me much hope that this game has not in fact been abandoned without telling the customer. So GOG is still selling a game that might never get finished. I liked what I was able to play even though it was quite buggy but the way they behave here is imo unacceptable. A game in dev should at least have expected ETAs for certain milestones.

GOG, please... change the page of this game : it's not "in development"...
it's more "abandoned game" ... at your own risk !!!

It's pathetic !! :-(
A good thing that I bought it on sale then. 59 eurocent .
IIRC I paid the full 6.99 for the game, thinking it wasn't much money and that it looked cool.

And as always, there is an inherent risk in buying "in development" games, which I understand. So purchasing the game at that point was on me. I knew that risk.

What I did not know however was that apparently the devs already knew it was never going to get finished before they put it up for sale here.

Thus, at the time GOG put it up here, the "in development" tag was not only inaccurate, but a lie told by the devs or publisher, in an apparent attempt to recoup some of their costs.

Now I am one of those guys who might actually have paid for a playable section of an abandoned game. But it's important to label it correctly, because not everyone else would willingly buy an abandoned game, knowing it had already been thrown out there to die.

There is nothing wrong with selling a game that you know will never be done. But for god's sake, don't label it as "in development" when it's not. Label it truthfully. Maybe something like: "Abandoned. Playable area of game on sale at a reduced price to attempt to recoup some costs" or something similar. So that we know where you stand on your own game and we don't have to do research and make guesses and beg for communication from you.

Bad communication is where ALL relationships will break down, resulting in lack of trust.

The only news there is over 2 years old. So, I guess the answer to to the OP is "Yes." :(
If you look closely on Forever Entertainment's games... they are responsible of the cheapest shovelware games on Nintendo Switch, most of their games are on sale through the whole year, sometimes even as low as €0,59. I can safely say this is their way of business - The Mansion will not be finished.
Sad for the company though, I liked Frederic but will not buy Fred3ric.
