I was thinking about getting this game as a Christmas present for my nephew who is currently using a computer installed with Edubuntu. Does anyone know if this game will run in Linux with Wine or DosBox?

Not with Dosbox as it's a Windows game. I did get Myst ME running well in Wine about 6 months back, but had to to a bit of fiddling with older QuickTime versions to get it working. I'm sure this version can work, but maybe not out of the box.

For anyone still wondering, this game runs great on linux using wine. Just run the installer, and hit cancel when it asks you about Quicktime
Awesome, thanks. It's a little late for Christmas, but a backup birthday present is always nice.
For those interested, this does run quite well under Crossover 11. Just use the unsupported title profile, and install. Aftwerwards setup a managed window, as I have had issues with closing the game, then finally install QT7 into that bottle and you are good to go.
