As the title states, I'm wondering if in fact LoM and DR are 32bit. I've been testing them on my Windows XP 32bit machine, and though I have an older installers that work, the current editions have a strange error. Using the newer versions installed which prompted my question, both games turn up with the dialog box stating they are not Win32 executables. I don't have any other 32bit machines to try to see if I can replicate the error, but I can replicate this upon multiple reinstalls on the same machine.

Just with Notepad, the PE on all versions turn up L, so it would appear that dialog box is using the wrong error for the new versions to mislead me. What makes this all strange though is that I'm not seeing that this is clearly reflected on the store pages if they are 64bit (and for that matter, the minimum requirement for Windows XP is indeed listed on them at the present moment). I have considered I could be misinterpreting it if that only applies to the Mac version. PCGW however also notes they are both 32bit games, so unless all that info is inaccurate by now, I would not have known that. Hence my predicament.

So are both of these games are actually compatible for 32bit machines or not? Either case for now, I'm cutting my losses for the only LoM version I have that works. This has been a strange journey.

On GoG I think they are still the 32 bit versions - I've been struggling to get the latest builds back on GoG. The 64bit versions are available from https://thelordsofmidnight.com/blog/support/
It might just be some component I was missing from XP which has been elusive as of late (there was some other thing that's now unobtainium for the time being for something else I had trouble with). Time hasn't been so kind. I've pretty much given up anyway for the while. I can only confirm the older versions are functional AFAIK, so I'll have to live with that. Not a big deal, just kind of a fact-finding misison. I'd been keeping track of these things and whatnot across other platforms for my amusement. Some surprising and disappointing results for some reason or other. if I can get something to work even if I had to set something up, great! If not, in the bin that goes.

Thanks for trying to help.
