When I use the cashcard with the ticket machine in the subway, the cinematic of the scanning shows and the game crashes when it finishes. The previous cinematics didn't have such problems. I've got the compatibility modes set to Windows XP SP2 (The others have bigger issues) and the 640x480 and disable scaling options ticked.

Try changing some options in the game's config window (should appear when you launch it) - disable 3D Acceleration and, if necessary, High Quality 3D Models (not sure about the last one, but it might help).
I don't have WIndows 8 or TLJ installed, so can't test the problem.
