I have just finished the game and I've got some questions. I did some research around afterwards and I know there are a lot of loose ends on great matters as the church of volteic, the balance, etc... But I would like to know whatever happened to April in the direct aftermath of coming back to Stark. I've downloaded the first Dreamfall but I didn't like the interface much and I am not sure I will be playing it as it has no real resemblance to the controlling mechanisms from the original game. So, I wonder if some of these questions were answered in any of the sequels:

1) Her "older" self or Lady Alvane tells her that Emily isn't dead and she would live. But I also remember Alvane telling her that her friends were mad at her because she exposed them to danger and didn't explain what was going on. Did they reconciled right away? Did the scumbag who also got shot (Nelson his name?) survived?

2) Did she managed to come back to Stark with no repercussions of being registered as a colonizer? I also remember the lady telling her that she could be arrested if she changed her mind about going to the Morning Star. Assuming that she thought she wasn't coming back to Stark in order to be the 13th Guardian, she didn't think thoughtfully. But would not be any repercussions with her back to Stark?

3) Did Cortez survived after all? Or his brother?

4) When she leaves the tower, the Crow tries to reach her and she just walks away. I can see that they reunite at some point. But how much time elapses between their next meeting? Why didn't she say goodbye to the Crow? Was she able to shift regularly?

5) Did she finished her DAMN PAINTING for the fucking art exhibit?

This is never disclosed. During Kickstarter campaign for Dreamfall Chapters, a stretch goal involving making "The Longest Journey Home" (a point&click adventure covering April's story right after the events of TLJ) was set, but not reached. The game itself will probably never materialise.

I think you're referring to Emma. She plays a role in Dreamfall.

As stated in Dreamfall (I don't think it's a real spoiler), April lost the ability to shift. She got stuck in Arcadia.

[POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR DREAMFALL CHAPTERS BELOW]

Some theories state the Draic Kin are reborn as some of the more cryptic characters in Dreamfall Chapters.

A lot. It's covered in Dreamfall, crow even resents April briefly for that. As for shifting, look above.

Unlikely, although if I recall correctly, it's never specified.

Overall I think you should try to overcome prejudice and play Dreamfall (and Chapters, naturally) just for the story. I don't like some gameplay aspects either, but the setting makes me still feel like replaying the game over and over.

If you really can't and still want to know this and that about the game's duoverse, I suggest browsing through TLJWiki, an invaluable source of TLJ-related knowledge.

There are some very good Dreamfall Let's Plays on YouTube, in german too =)
Thank you for the answers.
To be honest, I really wanted to play Dreamfall and the chapters but, honestly, I get a bit of motion sickness with this type of games and its camera work. What I liked about TLJ was the point and click aspect and the steady fixed camera angles. So, an YouTube walk-through is out of question either.
