This, quite simply, is a paradigm of adventure gaming. It transcends the tired old tropes that have been the ruin of so many adventure games, to provide a wonderful experience from start to finish.
You get an intriguing plot that draws you in. Two worlds that are beautiful and well designed. And a main character that actually has character. What's more, individual choices you make will have changes in how the game has played out.
Longest Journey was followed up by a less than stellar sequel, which is a shame, because this game does what every real adventure game or great movie for that matter should do, leave you hungry for more.
