Hi, I'm able to launch tlj and it runs past the opening scene. It continues to the prologue and to the point where April wakes up, turns and windows shuts the game down. Please help. I'm running game on windows 7.

My first recommendation would be to run the game in Win XP compatibility mode if you aren't already. This sounds similar to a crash I experienced with the retail 4 CD version on Windows 8.
thanks for your response but my pc had already chosen that setting and it still crashes. Should I just give up trying to play?

Absolutely not :) I have Windows 7 x64 and the game works great (with one exception). So in your case it could be the issue with settings or drivers for your hardware. First, in the TLJ option window hat appears when you start the game:
- uncheck 'Enable 3D Acceleration';
- Select 16-bit color depth;
- uncheck 'High Quality 3D Models'
Start the game and see if this helps. If not, in the same config windows clock the Advanced button and play around with the top two options (w and single buffers).

Edit: if the steps above help then start to enable one option at a time to spot the one that causes the game to crash.

Mine crashes in that same point, when she wakes up and turns around. I'm on Windows 8.1

I'll try those settings and let you know...

Hurray! Disabling 3D acceleration did the trick. Time to start a long jouney...
