When I start Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (the sequel of the first TLJ, not Dreamfall Chapters) the game immediately freeze at the intro, in the scene with snow, and I can't even see the menu. I have Windows 7 64 bit, I've already tried compatibility mode and reinstalling the game, someone know how to play this game?

No one can help me?
sorry, no. you mean the very first moment in the intro, snow and mountains? so the video starts and than it is freezing before it switches to the menu?

im using the gog version / win7 64bit / nvidia gtx760 / 1920x1080 / all settings max, never had a problem with this game, no compatibility settings too. must be something else, not the game itself. just started it for testing (i really should play it again)

normally the first i think is a problem with the graphics driver or the card, but when it starts the intro video... idk.

maybe a problem with the saves, could be that the game is starting to load the settings when its freezing cause the settings or savegame file is broken.
the saves folder is in the game folder. maybe rename the folder for testing...?

whats with access rights of the game to these folders? try to run it as admin...?
no other ideas atm, sorry. its so long ago i played it.

could be the moment when its switching the audio from video to game.

I had already tried the headphone/speaker thing and it didn't work. Now I've reinstalled the game (4th time) but in another HD. First it was installed in C:\Gog Games\Dreamfall - The Longest Journey (this disk is an SSD), now is installed in H:\Dreamfall - The Longest Journey (this is a mechanical disk) and the game works fine. I don't know if it's because is installed in an HD and not an SSD, because is installed in the main directory of the disk and not in a subfolder, because isn't installed in the disk with the OS or whatever. Maybe when I will finish the game I will try to install it in C:\Dreamfall - The Longest Journey and see what happen. Thanks for your help

Now it's not working again. It seems a conflict of some type with the audio driver. Yesterday (when it was working) in the credit scenes, before the menu, the audio was present, now it isn't. When I try to disable the audio card (Asus Strix Soar) the game doesn't even start and crash with this error. When I re-enable the card, the game freeze "normally".

edit:
I've tried to disable the dedicated sound card and to re-enable the integrated, in this way the game works. The problem is definitely a conflict with the dedicated sound card.

i see, good u firgured the bug. seems like not many people have this problem cause its not easy to find comments about it. old games with new hardware is always a bit risky. the longest journey (the first game) had a small bug with new graphic-cards too (police-station).
have fun :)
Wait: I found the problem but I didn't resolve it. The only solution is enable the integrated sound card, disable the dedicated and use the speaker with the integrated. It don't solve the problem but at least the game is playable
yop, i know, but u solved the problem to make the game playable ;)
thats maybe the best what u can do with your current hardware. changing the hardware (soundcard) is maybe be the real solution. i think there is no way to produce a game for all the old, current and future hardware combinations. this game is 10 years old... thats nearly stoneage for hardware.
