The beta remains Steam only. DRM reasons, I guess.

Which really isn't a broken leg, because that "beta" can be taken literally. :|

According to their Facebook page it will be Steam only.

Hopefully, they will fix the issue with the game ignoring Steam Controller by the time it gets out of beta.

Is it still labelled 'beta' in the present release? They issued a patch on Thursday, but it's not on GOG yet.

Then again, the patch notes don't mention the Steam controller at all.

I am actually eligible for a Steam version as a backer, but I eventually just threw the key away. Just not worth it. :)

Adding update 4.1.1 caused the game to be stuck with a black screen that prevented loading a save or starting a new game. The screen would be black, the mouse cursor still active, but no more key response and after 5 mins of this black screen, the game would crash with ntdll.dll mentioned in the appcrash report. Reinstalled the game but not applied this update and it works just fine

We're discussing that over in the patch 4.1.1 thread.

People have been aware since immediately after the patch released, but unfortunately GOG hasn't communicated the problem to them directly. RTG knows of that issue since YESTERDAY. Here's hoping it's just a minor glitch...

If you read that article - you will see that on the very bottom it says there will be FREE UPGRADE to ALL versions of the game - Steam and GOG included.

What I am perplexed about is whether Book 1-4 Episodes on Steam ALREADY USE Unity 5 Engine? Can it actually be downloaded???

Again: If you have Book 4 installed, you're using Unity 5 (for ALL the Books).

Steam, GOG, Humble. Doesn't matter.

There is no version of Chapters that has a Unity 4 Book 4. They didn't make that.

What about Chapters 1-3? Are they also using Unity 5 if you have Book 4 installed?

its ONE game, every chapter is an update/extension of this game. so when u change the unity engine its a change for the whole game, ALL chapters. means: all chapters are unity 5 now. unity 4 chapters dont exist anymore when u installed the last update (book 4).
