I want to buy this game, but a unsure what it means by chapters? does that mean chapters will be added at a cost, or, no cost.

Also, what does season pass mean? does it mean I only have the game for a certain amount of time or does it mean I can play online but only for a specific time.

Also, do you have to play online, or can you choose not to?
Season Pass mean you get all the chapters of the game, those already released and those that will in the future, the game will be permanently in your library (and of course you could download it for back up).

"Chapters" means that the story is separated into chapters, like a book. The meaning of the title is purely narrative – you will sometimes switch the protagonist, sometimes weeks pass in the story between chapters, there are 'interludes' outside of the chapter structure, it's all pretty bibliophile. :)

When you buy the game, you buy all of the 13 chapters at once, which are split into 5 "Books"=episodes, of which three are already released.

The online feature can be switched off fairly easily (and I've seldom seen a game that makes it as easy and complete). The only thing that does happen online is that they're collecting plot choice statistics from players; also, you can compare your choices to friends from facebook and Steam communities if you're so inclined (I'm not :) ).

Thanks for the info, I have bought it and am really enjoying it, dont like the controls as much as the first two, with them I could pretty much use only the mouse except for fighting in dreamfall, the longest journey. This one you have to use the keypad for moving around and other functions, but, its kept the story going pretty well!!
...and for 'only' three episodes, there is already a whole lot of it. Dreamfall's easily in the dust, length wise. :)
