I tried starting up TLJ yesterday and the character models keep flickering in and out. I've tried:

turning off anti-aliasing
messing with the preferences.ini file
downgrading my NVIDIA graphics card driver (295.73. which seems to be the oldest one I can find)

and nothing seems to be working. I've tried following the instructions to launch in windowed mode/software mode, but that's not working either (I've changed the values but nothing happens to the game). Is there another preferences file I should be messing with? Did I miss a step somewhere?.

Sad, I'd really like to play this game, but I can't stand all the flickering character models.

What OS are you running? I played it recently and didn't have any problem with the latest Nvidia drivers on Win7 64bits...

I'm still using Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

Not much else to do besides tinkering the preferences file, seems there's a case of duplicates tho so make sure you edit the right one in the %appdata% folder...

Well, I figured it out, I wasn't editing the %appdata% file, it also turns out I had to add a line to it to put it in software mode. It works perfectly now!

Thanks for all the help!
No problem, enjoy =)
