Hey guys,

I've been playing Longest Journey on ResidualVM and so far it has worked a treat. However, when I get to chapter 8 and talk to Sa'ena, the game crashes after she says "I promise". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and loading an earlier save to see if it was just a one-time glitch, but it continues to crash.

Any ideas how to overcome this so I can keep playing? I don't really want to have to play from GOG Galaxy as none of the cutscenes work, plus I don't really want to start all over again!

Thanks,

Voref

I don't have this bug at win 10 1909 / TLJ version 1.0.0.161 (without GOG Galaxy) / ResidualVM 0.4.0git566 / an older version of the HD-Mod (with bugfix) and FMV-Pack.

Maybe you should try to figure if your system, the HD-Mod or ResidualVM is crashing the game.

At first I would start the game without VM and mod (if possible, I don't know your system).
Crash means, its something wrong with your game-files or your system.

If no crash: Start the game with ResidualVM (current version), but no HD-Mod.
Crash means, its maybe ResidualVM. Post the bug here:
https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/issues
An easy workaround could be to play without ResidualVM before the crash happens (start it with the "game.exe") and use ResidualVM again a bit later.

If no crash: Add the current version of the HD-Mod.
Crash means, its maybe the HD-Mod. An easy workaround could be to open the ResidualVM-options and switch off the HD-Mod before the crash happens and switch it on again a bit later.
Report it here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-longest-journey-hd/downloads/tljhd/page/3#comments

Good luck.

Cattie: At first I would start the game without VM and mod
This is not possible because the save files are not compatible between the VM and the standard game. So you can't load the saves without VM installed.
I see. Thanks for the correction.
