Remember at the end of The Longest Journey, it was said that April's journey would end where it began? And at the end, she was shown as an old woman. Well, she was born in Stark and died in Arcadia, hardly old at the time, so that hasn't worked out.

This implies to me that at some point she will need to be reincarnated, and die again. What does everyone else think?

I think that game devs don't generally plan that far ahead.

Actually she wasn't born in Stark, I think.
Oh yeah, I vaguely remember that. I interpreted it as her death happening in the same place the first game started (which would actually have been her bedroom).

Those game devs (Ragnar Tornquist) certainly do plan ahead that far. The details in the "middle" may be somewhat mutable and fuzzy until it's actually time to define them, but the very End of the Journey for the main characters (April, Zoe, Kian, the Draic Kin) and for the Twin Worlds are planned since 15 years ago (10 years ago for Zoe, Kian).

Correct, we don't know at all where she was born, only that she ended up in Stark as an orphan at a young age. If I had to guess her place of birth, that would be where the interlude of Dreamfall: Chapters Book 1 takes place. ;)

Isn't April a daughter of the white dragon? That would make Arcadia her place of birth.

Also, Lady Alvane's identity hasn't been established, so she could be anyone. Players only assume she's April because of her affection with Crow and because she tells April's story. But the dialogue would be consistent if Lady Alvane was, for example, Zoe Castillo. Not saying she is - just showing how she can be anyone. The only requirement is that she has adventures with Crow and knows about April's story.

The way the dialogue was written, it's likely they were planning a sequel.

I'm not really sure I even remember Lady Alvane (It's been over a decade since I played TLJ). Does she have an English accent? If not, that could rule out Zoe. Also, why would she be either of them? Wouldn't she just go by her normal name?
There are many ways someone like Zoe could become known as "Lady Alvane". Here are a few possibilities:

- She marries someone in the Alvane noble family.
- She's elevated to nobility and adopts the Alvane title.
- She becomes the leader of a village, country or realm called Alvane.
- She accomplishes something in the mythology related to an artifact with "Alvane" in its name, which has many sub-possibilities, like she becomes the wielder of the Orb of Alvane, which was created by a god called Alvane.
- She is descended from a mythological entity called Alvane.
- She fulfills a prophecy that refers to her as Alvane or Lady Alvane.

Also, considering her age, and how people adopt local accents after living somewhere a while, her accent wouldn't help us to rule out anybody. The writers have probably deliberately avoided referencing her common name to keep us in suspense.
- She undergoes an experimental surgery to become a chipmunk, and spells her name pretentiously.
