I won't even mark this as a question as I already read your answer regarding VR on the Steam Forums. I just wanted to let you know that it would be awesome if you got VR (be it native Oculus or even SteamVR) working.
Due to the style you render the world in the framerate should be great (in VR) on most rigs, and the world just asks to be experienced "in surround".
The only complications I can see (from my limited point of of view) are the whole UI, as the 2D overlay would need to be rendered on a plane (or curved surface) *IN* the actual game world instead of just covering the view, and maybe some shaders which can not be easily rendered in 3D (highlights, shadows .. that kind of stuff)
So yeah .. I can understand that you want to finish the game first and then (maybe?) put VR in ..but still .. just adding my voice to the chorus of VR enthusiasts aching to be IN your game world instead of in front of it.
btw. I bought the game today and it IS fantastic so far, even in 2D :)
