Yes it's great! The game has become something incredible, this is way beyond my expectations! :D
Now the impatient wait until August 1st hehe.
I find it somewhat irksome to read the full release announcement and note that it reads as if The Long Dark is Steam-exclusive for its PC release. Not a word of GOG to be seen anywhere, or even the slightest hint that the game would be playable on a PC outside of the Steam ecosystem. It makes me a little less confident about release dates and such if GOG is so much of an afterthought that the people who wrote that announcement are either completely unaware the game is (for now?) available on GOG, or simply don't care enough to even imply that the GOG version exists.

It's a similar story on the front page of thelongdark.com, where it has Steam/XB1/PS4 logos everywhere, but that's it.
Paralipsis I'm glad you mention this, you're not alone. I've been wondering the same since the GOG release.
I've asked Hinterland about this in the past on the Hinterland forums but I can't remember them fully answering on it.
It weird because in the original crowdfunding they stated that backers would get a DRM-free copy at release. That was their own idea.. so why don't they use the GOG logo as well? I don't get it.
Doubt they'll forget about this site, just busy. Although it'd be good if they did list the DRM free stores too.
Anyhoe, I sent a tweet to them linking to this thread. Will reply if I hear back.
Hi everyone, yes, it has been a busy few days. Thank you for your patience.

Players who have purchased The Long Dark from GOG as an in-development game will get all episodes of Season One: WINTERMUTE (story mode) as they release, beginning with the first two August 1 2017. The remaining three are included as well in your purchase. It will be the same content as released for Xbox One, PS4 and Steam.

We hope that helps!

(Edited to clarify story mode title)

TIL.

I'd just assumed it'd be sold in story parts, so this is even better :D
No new information as far as I know but thanks for the heads up. :)
