Hinterland Studios posted on twitter that the next sandbox update for The Long Dark should be rolling out in this upcoming week. With it, saved games will be wiped. It sounds like this will be happening on steam in the next 3 to 4 days. Gog updates have been coming very quickly after lately, so I'm guessing the new update could also be happening to us as soon as this week or next, so, heads up, everyone.

I don't really have any saved games I'm super attached to as I tend to die a lot but I appreciate the warning.

I find it incredible that this is the first save wipe since the alpha got released.
That's not something you see much.

Although I'm going to miss my 2 year old save files (survived many updates), I know I could still install the current version for this specific save if I ever wanted to continue playing. That's why I love GOG with the downloadable installers just like in the old days. I've backuped all saves the past years. :D
