I see it is mentioned on the hinterlands site forums, but the ability to jump really needs to be implemented.

Everything feels great and realistic and is so well calculated (for the most part), buuut, I can't jump. This makes no sense to me as a gamer or in the realm of the game. I can crouch, run, strafe, but not jump? It just needs to be an option. Make it take more calories, disable the ability when encumbered, make it draw more attention from predators, but IMPLEMENT JUMP already! I am liking everything about the game so far but this just sticks a thorn in the side of my enjoyment every time I'm in the game, it's a big drawback to everything else that is sooo positive. I should be able to jump. It just makes sense.
I disagree, for realism it would make sense but I actually like the current gameplay mechanics. I've never needed to jump, not even in my current 50+ day game.
Obviously there is no "need" to jump, or it'd be in the game. But I WANT to jump, it feels natural and like something I should be able to do in this game. I think it would be useful, and an interesting added mechanic, and just feel right. I would at least like to understand why they decided NOT to put jumping in the game. I feel SO TIED DOWN. It kind of hurts a little.

Oh, I`d say there is a need to jump.
First day I played this game, I was enjoying the view down some steep cliffs & took one step too far.
Walked down what must have been barely two inch ledge & whammo, I couldn`t climb back up.

Had to side strafe down veeeery slowly to carry on playing.

Me too. Some climbing mechanics, that would be fine but no jump needed.

It's not about NEEDing to jump, it's about it being something I can do. It needs to be something I CAN do. It needs to be an OPTION.

Penalize me for burning more calories, make injuries more possible to happen, whatever, but it makes no sense to not be able to jump in this game.

I know exactly what you mean and agree. I'm twitchy and like to jump around a bit.
Dat moment, when you need to walk aaall the way back around the ankle-high fence-remains. Wat.

Ok a few days ago I had a moment where jumping would have been nice... I got stuck between a wooden snow wall and snow in Folorn Muskeg. They only thing I could do was restart the session and loose 30 minutes of game play. :(

it's really a huge oversite for an otherwise solid game

it makes zero sense not to be able to jump

put a weight restriction on it, make it burn calories

but holy crap, I'm roughing it out in the wilderness, kicking ass, but I can't jump?

nonsense
