Was so happy that when I watched the Alpha 2D video within around 5 hours of it's launch that the update was also here on GoG. I was worried the GoG update might take longer but nope there it was.

There are several new items of equipment to help make your ship self sufficient. There is also what I will term as an long integer bug it may not be actually that though but it looks like it.

Because I played Alpha 1D a lot I was in Sector 83 and all of a sudden my money just vanished and turned into negative. When I restored from a saved game, I saw that the moment I make a sale of an item over a certain amount, it looks like it reaches the maximum value of the variable holding the money amount and pow, you lose it all, in fact you are in the negatives. Because I was in sector 83 everything cost in the 500K+ range.

Unable to continue with my long played saved game I started another but remained in the earlier sectors as this update gave you the opportunity to not have the void chasing you. Unfortunately when mining and then smelting previous metals and trying to sell them, I ran into the issue again where some of the refined previous ores had a minus 2141xxx value where xxxx are other numbers I do not recall but the -2141 I knew was this bug and so I could not sell that item. I exited and loaded the save game and I could sell some but then others turned into a value of -2141

It looks like I will need to wait until alpha 3 which is due in 5 weeks at the earliest to keep playing which is a great shame but it is very early days and this is an absolutely fantastic game.

I'm still hoping they'll release a bug fix for this issue before then. It seems like it's affecting quite a few people.

Well we need to wait at least another 5 weeks for Alpha 3 I'm afraid. I had to start another game and ensure the main cash is not kept too high and also to stay in earlier sectors so prices and payments are not too high. Sadly though it is happening with precious ores from the Smelter. I quit and restarted and managed to sell them though but it is bound to hit us again I fear.

I could but I'd rather not reinstall Alpha 1D as it did not have the nice self sufficiency items. The game is very addictive and I adore it. We just need to wait another 5 or so weeks for the next Alpha.

[UPDATE]
One thing I found is if you have commodities which you cannot sell such as the precious ores bug that I hit when you hover over it and it shows a -2142xxxxx value, simply quit the game and reload it and then try to sell the items. You might need to do that multiple times but it will work.

The only time this will not work is if you have way too much cash so keep the cash well below 2.142 billion else you will get stuck like I have in one of my saves.
